All children who come to Thats Dancing Pty Ltd (TD) have a right to feel and be safe. We are committed to the safety and well-being of all our children and young people accessing our studio and involved in dance classes and performance, and the welfare of the children in our care will always be our first priority. We aim to create a child safe and child friendly environment where all children are valued and feel safe. The Director and any teacher or employee s available to all parents and children as a first point of contact to provide advice and support to children, parents, employees and volunteers regarding the safety and well-being of children in our organisation. The Director has the additional responsibility of providing an impartial point of contact should a parent or child have a concern with a particular member of the studio. This policy was developed in collaboration with all our instructors, volunteers, the children who use our services and their parents.
TD instructors, employee employees and volunteers encourage children to express their views, and make suggestions, especially on matters that directly affect them. We actively encourage children who use our services to ‘have a say’ about those things that are important to them. We value diversity and do not tolerate any discriminatory practices. We teach children what they can do if they feel unsafe. We listen to and act on any concerns children, or their parents, raise with us. Please refer to the Complaints process for steps for raising concerns.
All members are made aware of, and must abide by, our Code of Conduct and the Code of Ethics for Dance Teachers. Our Code of Conduct was developed in collaboration with all our instructors, employees, volunteers, the children who use our services and their parents. The Code of Ethics is as outlined below. For anyone found to not be abiding by our Code of Conduct and the Code of Ethics the Director will follow the complaints process as outlined in this policy.
